November 22, 1939 - May 11, 2026Passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Kingston Health and Sciences Center – KGH at the age of 86.
Dale Myrfield was the son of the late Annie and Harold Myrfield;
the loving husband of Orla;
the cherished father of Teresa and Karen Myrfield;
the dear brother of Arlene Smordin and the late Gwendolyn Molder;
the adored grandfather of Janna Richards, Anika (Brenick Wood) and his many grand-dogs past and present;
great-grandfather of Anastasia “Tazzie”.
Dale grew up on a farm near Buchanan, Saskatchewan and after completing his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan, moved with his wife Orla to Kingston, Ontario to work at DuPont Canada.
Dale was the quintessential engineer during his career at DuPont Canada and also in everyday life. He was interested in everything, a natural teacher, designed and created furniture, tents, and enjoyed adventures such as canoeing the Nahanni River with Orla in the Northwest Territories, backpacking on Baffin Island, Nunavut, sailing in the Great Lakes, white water canoeing with his friends and βdiscussingβ (or arguing) on any topic under the sun. He loved the outdoors and loved sunshine and was out on his e-bike in his last week enjoying the fresh air and light.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home located at 980 Collins Bay Road, Kingston ON K7M 6E5 on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 12pm to 3pm.
