With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Takeshi Obuchi, who passed away peacefully at home in Ajax, Ontario, on May 10, 2025. He was 76 years old.

Ron was a man of warmth, kindness, and unwavering positivity. A natural people-person, he had a gift for conversation, always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand. His love for his family, animals, and rock-and-roll music filled his life with joy, and his career in IT was not just a profession but a true passion. In all aspects of Ron’s life, he found great fulfilment in mentoring colleagues and guiding friends through life’s challenges, offering wisdom, support, and encouragement whenever it was needed.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 42 years, Marilyn, his devoted son Ross, his sister Diane, and his brother Bob (Chiyo). He was predeceased by his father, Masatoshi, and his mother, Misako. Ron’s presence brought light to those around him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

A funeral service to honour Ron’s life will be held on Thursday, May 15, at McEachnie Funeral Home in Ajax, Ontario. Family and friends are welcomed at 9:30 AM, followed by a service at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the SPCA or an animal welfare organization of their choice.
