
Gord passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood surrounded by the love of his three children.
Beloved husband of the late Gwen (née Joyce), Gord was a devoted father to Graham (Suzanne), Gregg (Lisa), and Gayle (Jason). He was a cherished grandfather to Joel (Trina), Cassandra, Jessica, Avery, Amilia, Evangeline, Jallaina, Brianna, and Charlotte, and a proud great-grandfather to Benjamin, Kayden, Lochlon, Theo, Maya, William, and Eleanor.
Gord will also be lovingly remembered by his partner, Jean Thomson, Jean’s sons, Bruce and Grant, and his extended family and many dear friends.
Gord was born and raised as an only child on a farm in Stayner, the beloved son of the late Bessie Campbell McLauchlin and Norman McLeod Oliver. In his teenage years, the family moved to Wasaga Beach.
Gord had two fulfilling careers: first with TD Bank for 27 years, and later as a Tim Hortons owner in Kitchener-Waterloo for 24 years. He was deeply involved in his community and cherished for his generosity and warmth.
Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service will follow at Jubilee Presbyterian Church, 7320 Highway 26, Stayner on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Darren May officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gord’s memory to a charity of personal significance would be appreciated.
