OLIVER, Mary Jeanne Oliver

It is with great sadness we share the passing of Mary Jeanne Oliver (née Bowyer) 1930-2026 on 22 March in Owen Sound, with Leslie her husband of over 70 years, at her side.

Mary Jeanne was born in Chengdu, China to parents employed at the Canadian West China Mission and raised in Toronto.

With passion for music, education and volunteerism, Mary Jeanne (MusBac., A.R.C.T., R.M.T) taught kindergarten, sang in choirs and, as a piano teacher, brought music into the lives of generations of piano students in Aurora.

To her family, she was the beloved wife (Leslie), and sister (Enid and Jack, dec.). Mother of Bill (Sherry), Meryl (Herb dec.), and John (Alison). Grandmother of Stephen (Meghan), Robert (Melissa), Margaret, Colin, and Ginny (Joe). Great-grandmother of Madeline, Bryce, Ethan, and Rose. She will be greatly missed by all she touched over her long life.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
