OURA, Roger Hisao Oura

Passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 84. Roger lived a life filled with love, family, friendship, and many cherished memories. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and devotion to family.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Karen (Tyler); son, Daniel (Sara); beloved grandchildren, Owen, Naomi, and Sam; brother Aki; sister, Mary; and niece, Kristine.

Roger Hisao Oura took great pride in his family and especially cherished time spent together. Being a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle, brought him great joy, and his love for family will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tatsuo and Shizue.

A memorial service will be held on September 3, 2026, from 11am to 12pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Center, 14831 28thAve, Surrey, BC. Reception to follow immediately after at Morgan Creek Golf Course (Fraser Room), 3500 Morgan Creek Way, Surrey, BC.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well lived and a person deeply loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Nikkei Place Foundation.
