Passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance. Jim was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and grew up in Eliot, Maine, son of Stanley and Natalie Parmley. James Chester Parmley was the husband of the late Yvonne Parmley and will be missed by his sons Sean Parmley (Shelley) and Dean Parmley (Sandy), and by his grandchildren Kyle Knizat, Zachary Parmley, Mason Parmley, and Alyssa Mervin. Jim was the brother of the late Gary Parmley (Vicky), Jodie Dahlen, Larry Parmley (Tamara), and Gil Parmley (Robin). Jim was also loved by his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Jim served as Military Police for four years in the United States Air Force. Once he was discharged he and Yvonne and their young son Sean moved to Canada. Soon after their move they welcomed Dean to their family. Jim moved on to serve as a Police Officer at the University of Western Ontario until retirement. He spent his retirement in London, Grand Bend, Ridgetown, and Blenheim. Jim enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time. Jim had great love for his family. He made sure to keep in contact with family and was often the catalyst for family get togethers. Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
