PEPER, John F. Pepper

Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Dr. John F. Pepper, dental surgeon, passed away at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Toth, and dear brother of Mary Sharpe. Cherished uncle to Warren Sharpe. John was predeceased by his sister, Anne Pepper.

Born and raised in Toronto, John spent the latter half of his life living and practicing in the Hamilton area. As a teenager, he was an active instructor at the Broadview YMCA in Toronto and spent many summers in Muskoka at YMCA Camp Pinecrest, where he taught swimming and canoeing.

John had a lifelong passion for sport and was often said to have been β€œborn with skis on.” His passion for both snow and water skiing was remarkable. He held numerous Canadian records in water skiing and, in 1986, received the National Achievement Award in recognition of his distinguished performance in amateur sport.

John graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1966 and earned his BScD in 1969. Five years later, he was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International. Following in his father’s footsteps, John shared a deep love of teaching dentistry and generously volunteered his time as an instructor for 46 years.
