passed away at Victoria Hospice with family by her side on August 22, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Victoria, B.C. Elsie spent much of her childhood in Fort Smith, NWT where her brothers and sisters were born. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Cecilia Conibear (nee’ Powell), husband Haldo Person, brothers George and Elbert, sisters Ruth Bird and Frances Biehl. She is survived by her sister, Ada Mesak and many nieces and nephews.
Elsie enjoyed many hobbies and interests over the years. She was an avid reader, gardener, scrapbooker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Elsie was very active in the Lion’s Club for many years.
Elsie enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved family barbecues, dinners and outings to the 4 Mile Pub.
