It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Jarman on September 16, 2026, in Kelowna, BC. He was born on October 24, 1947, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Born to Edna and Jack Jarman, Peter attended the all-boys Sydney Grammar School and enjoyed sports such as cricket, rugby, and athletics. He also enjoyed surfing and was a lifesaver at Long Reef Beach. Peter worked part-time with his dad, Jack, at the family’s liquor store on weekends.

Peter went on an extended working holiday after university, skiing and working in Zermatt and touring Europe. He then settled in Canada (even though Canadian winters certainly made him miss the warm shores of Australia).

Peter worked for CSRD in Salmon Arm, BC, for 24 years. Retirement beckoned, so he left his position as Treasurer and started a new chapter of life in 2014. Peter and Dianna moved to Kelowna, BC, where Peter enjoyed the summers as a golf ambassador (and his time on the green with his friends) at Black Mountain Golf Club.

Peter was an avid reader on the topic of Porsches; he read everything he could get his hands on related to the car. Although he never owned one himself, he could tell you just about everything there was to know about them. He was delighted when, during a Porsche tour for his retirement, he got to drive a number of them!

Throughout the years, Peter kept up his skiing, and family ski vacations remained a highlight for him.

Peter will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him, but none more than his loving wife of 43 years, Dianna; daughters, Tiffany, Leah, and Brittany; his son, Jack; and his grandkids, Ayla, Taylor, and Benny.
