PHILLIPS, Dow McCullough PHILLIPS
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dow McCullough Phillips, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on March 3, 2026, at Lisaard House in Cambridge. Dow was 89 years old.

Born on August 11, 1936, in Owen Sound, Ontario, Dow was the son of the late Clarence and Clara (Hammill) Phillips. He was a devoted husband to Marilyn (Good) Phillips, whom he married on September 20, 1958. Together, they shared a life filled with love and joy.

Dow was a cherished father to his children, Dennis Phillips (Catherine), Donna Kropf (Sanford), Ronald Phillips (Pamela), Richard Phillips, and Barbara Ann Parker. He took great pride in being a grandfather to 18 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 30 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

He is survived by his brothers, Douglas Phillips (Dorothy) and David Phillips (Karen), and his foster brother, Ervin Hollinger (Nancy). Dow is also remembered fondly by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mervin Good, Paul Good (Beth), and Joan Good, as well as his special friend and co-worker, Mark Duthee. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Predeceased by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd Good and wife Wilma, Mary Ellen Good, and Elroy Good.

A man of many passions, Dow found great joy in woodworking, always with a dedicated eye to detail. He had a special place in his heart for his lumber customers and loved the rural life that involved working with his cows and tending to his land. Sunday afternoon drives were a highlight for Dow, as was the joy he found in square dancing with Marilyn. His love of life was simple but rich, marked by the joy of enjoying treats at Dairy Queen and regular visits to Sauble, where he treasured spending time with family and friends.

Dow’s family was the center of his world, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and joy. He will be remembered fondly for his kind spirit, hardworking nature, and deep devotion to his loved ones.
