PHOENIX, Carson Phoenix
December 18, 1942 - June 21, 2026It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carson Irvine John Phoenix on Sunday June 21, 2026. Carson passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family in his 83rd year.
Carson is predeceased by his parents Clarence Joffry Carson Phoenix and Ethel Phoenix (Hope) and his loving wife and soul mate Margot Phoenix (Beasant). He will be lovingly remembered by his children, the 3 Jβs, Jeffrey (Ilse), Jennifer (Tim), and Julie (Ivan) and his grandchildren Christopher (Sabrina), Michael, Katherine, Alex and Daniel. He will be sorely missed by his extended family, his friends at Antrim Glen, the congregation at Heritage United Church, and the brethren at Westgate Lodge #734 G.R.C.
Carson and Margot travelled extensively across the world and shared many adventures together residing in Montreal, Iroquois, Dorval, Oakville, Naperville, Ill. And enjoyed their retirement in Freelton (Antrim Glen).
Carson had a successful career as a CPA and retired from Ingredion Inc. in Illinois as Chief Director of Internal Audit. His career took him across the world auditing in South Korea, Mexico, Canada and the US. Carson counted numbers across the globe and continued well after retirement; he offered his talents as treasurer to the church and lodge. If you knew Carson, he had an excel spreadsheet for everything.
Carson was a Freemason for over 50 years, serving as Master of The Royal Edward Lodge #90 G.L.QC and was an affiliated past master serving as treasurer of West Gate Lodge #734 G.R.C. Carson was also a member of the Scottish Rite 32Β°, Hamilton Valley.
Carson lived life to the fullest and was always willing to try something new. He loved the outdoors and took his family camping with a pop-up trailer across Canada and the US stopping at National Parks. Later in life he travelled his bucket list with his wife and took safaris, river cruises, and even purchased a piece of paradise in Mexico. His love of animals was obvious with his many pets (Finnigan, Misty, Calvin, Hobbes and Silk) and his grand dogs Mira and Brick. He loved to feed the birds and squirrels and watch them on his deck. He loved to learn about different cultures and cuisines and had a passion for photography. When Carson wasnβt travelling, you could find him listening to bluegrass on full blast typing away on his computer. Carson loved technology and offered his tech savvy to seniors on Tech Tuesdays.
Carson was the type of man to help you in your time of need without judgement and walk beside you in solidarity. He was the real salt of the earth, and he will be extremely missed.
