PIOTUCH, Jadwiga Wanda Piotuch

March 22, 1949 - July 8, 2025
PIOTUCH, Jadwiga Wanda Piotuch

With deep sorrow and tender remembrance, we announce the passing of our beloved divine mother, Jadwiga Wanda Piotuch departed this world on July 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was 76 years old, but her spirit was as youthful as a 27 year old.

Daughter of Lucyna Chruściel, and Józef Mieczyslaw Chruściel.

She was a devoted Mother, to Adam Piotuch, Margaret Herschell, and Angelica Morjaria. Wife of Dilip Morjaria and was the spouse of the beloved Edward Anthony Piotuch (February 6, 1986), sister, aunt, friend, and Florist.

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Jadwiga carried unconditional love and did everything in life from the heart. She immigrated to Canada, where she created a home that honored both her Polish roots and the new beginnings she embraced.

Jadwiga was a woman of deep devotion—devotion to her family, her Catholic faith, the Polish Church and community.

She grew up in her mother’s garden where her mom was always singing in Zielonka Poland.

She learned to dance ballet at a young age in Poland and it was her absolute favourite. The delicate, graceful and disciplined nature of classical ballet, as well as the melody of a piano, was something she adored her whole life.

She left Poland in her early years to study English in England, and arrived in Canada where she built a loving family and life. She lived her life with kindness to others and made everyone feel cared for and loved. She would remember every detail about people’s lives and share her thoughts in a dreamy poetic way…telling stories and sharing beauty through her perspective.

She lived a life rooted in compassion, creativity, and deep reverence for nature and adventured through life with her feminine motherly essence always guided by what she called her “inner” which was her intuition.

She knew every flower during her walk in the park or gardens and always shared photos of herself and her family in beautiful places with stylish fashion.

She became a Florist, designed, decorated and celebrated many local events, weddings and festivities in around Durham Region. She named her flower shop after her youngest daughter: Angelica’s Flowers.

Her home was always filled with Victorian style decor, plants, fresh flowers from the garden. She was generous, and always feeding family and friends with traditional home cooked food, friends would adore her cooking.

Her garden—alive with hydrangeas, mint, roses, raspberries and grapes—was a mirror of her soul: wild, vibrant, and always nurturing.

To know Jadwiga was to feel seen. She held your gaze with kindness and listened with her whole being. Her words healed and celebrated you.

She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret and Angelica, her son Adam, her husband Dilip, and a community of friends and family who will carry forward her legacy of tenderness and love.

In her final days, Jadwiga was surrounded by her immediate family.  She passed peacefully, her hand held, her spirit prayed for.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local botanical garden, or planted in her name—peonies, and magnolias, if possible.

May her memory be a blessing, her unconditional love a light we carry forward.
