It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father David on March 8, 2026 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Grace for over 61 wonderful years. Proud father of Steven (Stephanie) and Brian. Loving Grandpa of Joshua (Becky), Jesse (Chelsea), James, Amy, Will, Claire, and Riley Jo. Great-Grandpa (Papa) to Ezekiel, Malachi and Elijah. David is survived by his brother Douglas Pipe (Sharon) and sister Delphine (Mike Brunet) and sister-in-law Edith (Dave Mattless). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, bonus “grandkids”, and extended family and friends and all who affectionately called him “Uncle Dave”.
David was born and raised in Simcoe, Ontario. From a Pastor’s family, their life revolved around their church and community. David gave his life to service to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at 8 years old under the ministry of his father, Dr. Norman Pipe at Bethel Baptist Church. David met Grace in Simcoe when she came to teach at the Ontario Training School for Boys. They married in 1964 just before Dave started Seminary. Eventually Dave became a teacher, Vice-Principal and Principal in the Peel Board.
He was always very involved in the churches he attended over the years in music ministry and as organist. Together with Grace they hosted innumerable parties and vacations from their cottage and Florida homes which friends and family will always remember with fondness. His love for fun, games and outdoor activities (fishing, hunting, boating, traveling) have contributed to lasting memories for countless people over the years. Many have said they consider Dave to be one of their most favorite people.
Above all Dave would consider his faith in the Lord Jesus as the most important thing in his life. He served the Lord faithfully and was an example of a strong faith for many. The impact of his life lived for the Lord will bear fruit for years to come into eternity.
Family will be available for visitation on Saturday March 14, 2026 from 12pm-1pm at Emmanuel Bible Church, 24 Churchill Circle, Simcoe. A Celebration of Life service will follow at Emmanuel at 1pm. A private family interment is scheduled for a later date.
