PIPHER, Emerson “Bud” Pipher May 11, 1930 - May 27, 2025
PIPHER, Emerson “Bud” Pipher

Emerson “Bud” Pipher, a man known for having a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his face, a firm handshake and a love for life, passed away on May 27th with the love of his life, Mary and family, by his side. Born on March 11, 1930, he was 95 years young.

Bud was a devoted, warm, thoughtful husband to his best friend Mary Pipher (Lintner) for almost 71 years. Loving father of Peter Pipher (Sandy), Jimmy Pipher (Joanne), Susan Pipher-Hogg (David). He was predeceased by his son, John Pipher, and brothers Leonard and Kenneth Pipher. Cherished Pops to Camille (Jordon), Jesse (Kate and baby Pipher on the way), Devin (Darcy), Parker, Zachary, Graydon and Bryar. Survived by his sister-in law Joan Pipher. Bud was also so fortunate to have so many caring relatives and friends who regularly kept in touch.

Bud was passionate about keeping busy throughout his life. He was a “jack of all trades” in athletics who loved to carve perfect “Ss” down any ski hill in the winter months, followed by golfing in the warmer weather. His greatest joy came from watching his children and grandchildren compete in their sporting events.

In addition, Bud was gifted with creativity. There was nothing he could not “jig up”, fix, repair or create. So many people were lucky enough to receive one of his beautiful carvings and hand carved pens. A treasure!

Over the last couple of years, Bud was supported by many dedicated professionals. Special thanks to Dr. Libby and Brooklin Medical team, Lakeridge’s Heart and Function Clinic, in particular NP Krista, the VON team overseen by Louise, PSW Augustine, Zee and Alvin from St. Elizabeth, and lastly the folks from Lakeridge Heights Retirement Residence. We were blessed for their kindness and caring for Bud with so much dignity, while accepting our family. Thank you!

Please join us at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery on Wednesday, June 4th at noon to lay Bud to rest. Following this, the Pipher family and the St John’s Anglican Church parishioners invite you to the “Hugs and Happy Thoughts” in the basement of the church from 2 to 5 pm. We are looking forward to sharing stories and laughter with all.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St John’s Anglican Church (cheque or cash), would be appreciated.
