POITRAS, Anne-Marie – We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Anne-Marie Poitras (née Giasson), at the age of 81, on Saturday, June 8, 2025, at Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa.
She is survived by her daughter, Line Poitras of Dubreuilville. She also leaves behind her sisters, brothers, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Cécile Giasson (Serge Lagacé), Véronique Giasson (Florian Barrest), Mario Giasson (Nancy Morisette), Raynald Giasson, Danielle Giasson (Yves Demers), and Stéphane Giasson (Denise Lepage). She was predeceased by her husband, the late Fernand Poitras, her mother, the late Lilia Savoie, and her father, the late Arsène Giasson, as well as her brother, the late Gérard Giasson, and her sister, the late Thérèse Giasson.
She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Poitras family: the late Pierre-Paul Poitras, the late Alphonse Poitras (Lisa Cormier), Blanche-Yvette Poitras (the late Gérard Roy), Jacqueline Poitras (Richard Smith), Arthur Poitras (Joceline Lévesque), Gérald Poitras (Linda Bossé), Maurice Poitras (Nicole Gendron), the late Rosaire Poitras, the late Joseph Poitras, Éric Poitras (Linda Cormier), and Michel Poitras (Mario Roussy). She leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sainte-Cécile Church in Dubreuilville on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Her ashes will then be interred at the Sainte-Florence Cemetery in Matapédia.
