POWER, Robert David Power
August 24, 1964 - March 12, 2026
The son of Edmund and Irene Power, Rob was a skilled carpenter by trade, a devoted husband, father & grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met along the way. Known for his quick wit, he had a joke for every occasion and never missed a chance to make people laugh. Loyal to the core, Rob was the kind of man people could always count on. He was incredibly proud of his 40 years of marriage and was a loving husband, an excellent dad, and over the years became a father figure and safe place for many people.
Robert David Power (Rob) loved the simple pleasures in life – Sunday drives, telling stories by a campfire, sipping a gin and juice, and spending time on the water sailing the trimaran his family built together in the 1970’s (Cheemaun). He especially thrived in his role as a grandparent, giving his later years so much purpose, he was truly one of one.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best-friend, Elaine Withey-Power; their children Marc, Kari (Shane), Wade, and Scot Withey-Power; and grandchildren Taylor and Lukas Decker.
Rob will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him – to know him was to love him. A special thank you to all the friendly staff at the Millbrook Foodland, Home Hardware, and the LCBO, where he would often be found chatting day to day.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life in Millbrook, On., Saturday, August 22, 2026, in his honour.
Fair winds and following seas, Rob – Captain of the Power family, and the heart of the crew who loved him most. May he rest in paradise.
