PRITCHARD, Lois Sherley Pritchard

Passed away peacefully, in her 97th year, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband William Ernest (1971). Beloved mother of Ellen Myers (Terry), Catherine Stevens (the late John), Susan Hewitt (Ray), the late David Pritchard (Laurie), Amelia Pritchard (Matt), and Andrew Pritchard (Christine). Cherished grandmother of Carey, Ruth, Debbie, Michael, James, Kyle, Ashley, and Aidan. Also greatly loved by 8 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Lois was predeceased by her parents Florence and David Smith, as well as her siblings Stanley, Norma, and Beverley.

Lois was known for her sharp wit and perfectly timed comebacks, her sense of humour lit up every room she was in, especially when it was paired with her signature impish smile, the one that let everyone know she was about to deliver a line worth remembering.

Classy in every sense, she treated everyone with warmth and generosity. Always opening her home to anyone in need, including a vast array of animals, who were drawn to her kind spirit and gentle giving soul.

At 14, Lois was a Bomb Girl in Toronto, she also served as a Red Cross Girl, during her school years. As a young mother, raising 4 children she taught Sunday school and was a proud member of the United Church in London, ON.

Later, she moved back to Toronto and resumed a long career in the credit department of Simpson’s and then The Bay. In her down time, you would always find her knitting beautiful baby sets for all the new moms in her life and baking up a storm.

Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to her beautiful friend and caregiver, Karyn Crego, the medical staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and all of the amazing palliative staff who helped her at home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 12-1 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 1 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Durham Region. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
