PROCUNIER, Dale Stanley Procunier

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dale Stanley Procunier on June 25, 2026, at Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock, Ontario, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 76.

Dale was born on November 27, 1949, in Wingham, Ontario, to the late Irene and William Procunier. He was raised in London, Ontario, where he developed the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion that guided him throughout his life.

Dale shared an extraordinary love story with his devoted wife, Francine. They met at Lake Rosseau in Muskoka and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a remarkable milestone built on love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

A dedicated educator and advocate, Dale devoted his career to serving others. He worked with Community Living Tillsonburg and later as a teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board, where he was respected for his patience, generosity, and dedication to the people whose lives he touched.

Outside of his career, Dale found great joy in sports, both as a participant and coach, and loved encouraging others to reach their full potential. He was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and treasured time spent at the lake, especially at the cottage, on Lake Rosseau, where so many of his happiest memories were made.

Above all, Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Francine; his son, Colin (Rachelle); his cherished granddaughter, Harper; and brothers Rob and Jamie. Dale also looked forward with great anticipation to the arrival of his next grandson, whom he sadly did not have the opportunity to meet.

Dale will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, students, and community. His legacy of compassion, service, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Sakura House Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Dale and his family throughout his illness.

A celebration of Dale’s life will hosted at the Richmond United Church on July 18 from 2pm-4pm, 53895 Church St, Aylmer (Richmond) Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sakura House Hospice or a charity of your choice in Dale’s memory.
