PROCUNIER, Patricia Procunier
August 1, 1935 - November 12, 2025
Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in her 91st year. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Dale. She was the greatly loved mother of Laura Procunier and Michael Procunier (Sherry), and cherished grandmother of Lisa (Jamie Armstrong), Brittany (Justin Gordanier), Jennifer (Luke Whalen), and Matthew Procunier (Carly MacInnis). Pat was a treasured great-grandmother to Riley, Aurora, Elise, and Brooks. She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Pat was a devoted wife to her lifelong partner, George Dale Procunier, celebrating 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2022. Together, they enjoyed world travel, cruises, bridge clubs, reading clubs, gardening, canning, and raising a family. To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she was known simply as “Mama”.
Her legacy, however, was anything but simple. Patricia received an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University, majoring in history. Pat went on to teach in Blackstock and at Port Perry High School, where she wrote and published an economics book used at the secondary level. Pat loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and hosting numerous dinner parties. She was a talented artist, painting beautiful landscapes for her art shows and her family collection. She was classy, talented, and passionate about history. Pat spent her last five years at The Village of Taunton Mills retirement home in Whitby.
A private family service will be held in the spring at Prince Albert Pine Grove Cemetery, where she and Dale will be placed to rest. Donations are welcomed in her memory for the Durham Alzheimer’s Society.
