PUNGITORE, Maria Pungitore

Peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Maria Pungitore, at the age of 92. Cherished wife of 71 years of Bruno Pungitore. Loving mother of Joseph and Colleen Pungitore and Mary and Peter Lepore. Adored Nonna of Matthew and Elizabeth, Ryan and Stacey, Joshua and Alyssa, Lucas and Gabrielle, and Amelia and Brodey and Bisnonna of Isabella, Jack, Bennett, Luca, Sofia, Gabriella, Nico, and Francesca. Dear sister of Angela and Nick Reale, John and Betty Denisi, Frank Denisi, Joe and Karen Denisi, and Vera and Pino Iellamo and sister-in-law of Anna Gugliotta. Predeceased by her parents Bruno and Barbara Denisi, her sister-in-law Rosa and Giovanni Michienzi, and her brother in law Giuseppe Gugliotta and her grandsons Jacob and Justin. Zia Maria will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and their families. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses, staff and caregivers at Westmount Gardens for their compassionate care, patience, kindness shown to our mother during her 12 years there.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday, August 15 at 12 noon. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
