With hearts full of memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nani, and Dadi, Pushpinder Kaur Toor. She completed her earthly journey on the night of August 18, 2026, surrounded by the two pillars that guided her life: faith and family.
Pushpinder Kaur was born in Ludhiana to her loving parents, S. Sarwan Singh Dhaliwal and Surjit Kaur Dhaliwal, and became an older sister to her younger brother, S. Mohinderjit Singh Dhaliwal. Bonded from childhood, their unbreakable bond was filled with unconditional love, support, and immense affection. He was not just her brother; he was also her best friend.
At the age of 21, she was wed to her husband, S. Iqbal Singh Toor, a mechanical engineer from village Swaddi near Mullanpur Dakha. They shared a loving marriage of 35 years, a union she often called magical, one that filled her life with love, respect, and abundance. He treated her with the reverence of a queen, and she often said she never felt any difference between her paternal home and her married home. He knew her heart so well—always finding the right words, spoken privately and lovingly, to ease her worries and remind her that no small trouble was too big to overcome together. Theirs was a marriage where respect never wavered, and happiness lived in every corner of their home.
Together, they welcomed three beautiful children into their lives: Jasjit Kaur (wife to Jaswant Singh Garcha), Ranjot Singh (husband to Mandeep Kaur Toor), and Amitoj Kaur (wife to Charanpreet Singh Sidhu), who became the truest reflection of the love, faith, and selflessness she carried in her heart. Pushpinder Kaur lived a life devoted to Sikhi, one rooted not just in knowledge but in deep, unwavering love for the Guru. For decades, she rose before dawn at Amrit Vela to do Kirtan seva at her local Gurdwara, rain or shine, without fail. She was rarely without a Sehaj Paath in progress: one for a loved one’s birthday, another to mark a shaheedi, and she filled her grandchildren’s earliest memories with Sakhis of the Gurus and the Shaheeds, ensuring they grew up not just knowing Sikhi but loving it as she did. Every Poh (December), she looked forward to traveling to Punjab for the Sabha, describing the seva and sangat there as nothing short of divine. Even in her final years, when she could no longer walk, speak, or do her nitnem unaided, her devotion never wavered. She listened to Gurbani on her tablet, kept the livestream from Darbar Sahib and Fatehgarh Sahib on each evening, and, even with her limited strength, still bowed her head in prayer.
She was the most loving grandmother to Aneil Kaur, Chenaab Singh, Mehraj Singh, Sahib Kaur, Rehat Kaur, and Tehzeeb Kaur. To each of them, she was a constant source of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love. Always present, always smiling, always joking around, and always ready to make them feel cared for in the simplest of ways. Her legacy is one of devotion and boundless love, and it will continue to live on in the faith, values, and warmth she instilled in every member of her family and those she loved. Though we will forever feel her absence in ways words cannot describe, we find comfort in knowing her soul now rests eternally with Waheguru, her memory carried forward in every prayer and every moment of quiet reflection.
