QUATTROCIOCCHI, Francesco Quattrociocchi

He was born on March 13,1941 in Italy to Umberto and Maria. He had 3 siblings, Ida(Giuseppe), Silvio(Melia) and Michele(Palmira). In the 1960s he had two special things happen, first he moved to Canada and second, he married his true love, Santina. Together Santina and Francesco had four children: Marcella (Salvatore), Roberto, Carlo(Sheila) and Anna(Stephen). His life was very typical of the immigrant experience, he worked hard and tried his best to ensure that his kids had the benefit of all that Canada had to offer. He worked for most of his life at CN Railway where he developed a love for trains and where he met many people. He worked at CN with many of his brothers in law. Unfortunately, it was at CN where his health troubles would begin and in 1978 he suffered a very difficult back injury which he never recovered from. The many years that followed were plagued with back aches and consequent health issues. Regardless, being a father of 4, he continued to work and make the very best of it.

He enjoyed watching soccer, wheel of fortune and old movies. He loved old Italian music and loved to sing and dance. His favourite activity was hunting. He loved his friends who he hunted with in Northern Ontario and he loved hunting with family members in New York State.

Francesco’s life was an old fashioned one by all accounts. He got married, he raised a family and then was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Samantha, Allessandra, Francesco, Hunter, Max, Sabrina, Charles and Edward. He was so very proud of the life he had built, the family he had and the fact that he had provided for them. He was foremost a husband, father and grandfather and gave all he had to ensure that his family was safe and cared for.

His family watched him suffer, especially in his finally months and days. It was so hard to say goodbye but he so deserves to rest after all he suffered. Francesco will be missed, his kindness and quick wit always put a smile on those around him. The family thanks you for all the condolences and memories that you have shared with Francesco. Rest in peace Francesco, until we meet again.
