QUINN, Mary Jean Quinn
November 7, 1932 - October 30, 2025It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Nana, Mary Jean Quinn, who passed away peacefully, at the age of 92, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by her loving family. We take comfort knowing that she is now reunited in heaven, with husband Carl and son Brian, and all her loved ones.
Born Mary Jean Cameron on November 7, 1932, in Toronto, to the late Bruce Cameron and Amy Bennett. She grew up in a loving family with her big brother Bruce, and her best friend and sister Dorothy. Mary met the love of her life, the late Carl Quinn at age 18 in 1951. They married on June 21, 1952, had 7 children, and enjoyed 47 wonderful years together before Carl died in 1999. Dear mother of Gary, the late Brian (Susi), Cathy (Rob), Michael (Lory), Stephen (Stacey), Susie (Dino) and Carol (Andy). Proud nana to grandsons Markus, Steve, Brett, Taylor, Bradley, Jesse & Murphy, and bonus grandsons Andrew, Matthew and James. Devoted nana to granddaughters Quinn, Katie, Amy, Kim and Camille. Loving great grandmother to Sebastian, Sarah, Mason, Tyson, Corson, MacKenzie, Blake, Lucas, Hadley, Cooper and Leszeith. Predeceased by husband Carl (1999), loving son Brian (2022), brother Bruce and sister Dorothy.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a beautiful soul who would help anyone. She was known for baking her famous butter tarts and oatmeal raisin cake. Mary had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh with her family and friends. Mary was smart as a whip and loved playing euchre, wordle and scrabble, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She had a passion for watching hockey and the Toronto Blue Jays. Mary was one in a million and the best mother and Nana anyone could ask for. She will live in our hearts forever.
As per Mary’s wishes, the family will be holding a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
