QUIRK, Rick Quirk

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 93, Rick passed away at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family. Rick Quirk, beloved husband of Bronwen Ruth (nee Williams). Loving father of Richard and his wife Connie of Port Elgin, Barbara and her husband Kevin Bentley of London, and Cara and her husband Richard Engelhardt of Nobleton. He will be missed by his treasured grandchildren Justine, Cameron (Sasha), Alana (Jake), Patrick (Justin), and Danielle (Mike) and great grandchildren Emily and Adelynn.

Rick worked as a personnel director for the Ontario government at retirement. He was involved in music through his life, singing barbershop in Thornhill and Markham and enjoyed listening to it everywhere. He loved gardening and enjoyed his years on acreage outside Sunderland. His involvement with his church brought him joy, musically and in the men’s group, but his deepest love was his wonderful family of whom he was so proud and whose growth and successes he celebrated in his quiet way. He remembered his years cottaging on Morrison Lake, Muskoka and the millions of happy times, kayaking, swimming, and gathering on the deck to just catch up with everyone. Each chapter and page of his life he stored away so he could later recount as stories.

The family of Rick Quirk will receive friends at the Port Perry United Church, (corner of Queen and Simcoe Streets) on Wednesday, September 24^th from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a Service at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Clinker officiating. A private interment will follow the service at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Prince Albert.
