RAK, Stanley Rak

It is with great sadness that the family of Stanislaw (Stanley) Rak announce his passing on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 101.

Stanley was the beloved husband of Helen who predeceased him in 2018.  They were happily married for 72 years.  Stanley is the cherished and respected father of Krystyna Warner (late Frank) and Richard and his wife Mary Anne.  He was lovingly known as Dziadzia by his grandchildren and families:  Tammy & John Grassa with Stefano and Marco; the late Susan (2021) and Anthony (Tony) Cornacchia with Crissy and Nicholas; Tracy Warner; Robyn Warner; and Amanda Cardamone with Lucia (Lu) and Isabel (Ibby).    He will be missed by extended family and friends in Canada and Poland.

Upon arriving in Canada in the summer of 1950, Stanley called Bradford his home.  Even when faced with recent challenges he always hoped and planned to return to Bradford. Stanley had a deep commitment to his Catholic faith and was a long-standing member of Holy Martyrs of Japan Roman Catholic Church.  He had a passion for card playing with Canasta and Bid Euchre being his favourite games.  He and Helen enjoyed socializing while playing cards in different centres in and around Bradford and Stanley was known as the “Candy Man” as he would always have chocolate or candy in his pocket to give out.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff at Wawel Villa Seniors Residence in Mississauga where Stanley was a resident for the past few years.
