It’s with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Bruce John Ransom, 71 years old, in Huntsville on January 22, 2025. A man who impacted many with his love, kindness and humour, Bruce was born on June 3, 1953, to Dougal and Isabel Ransom in Markdale, Ontario. The second of nine children, he spent most of his life in Muskoka and was known as the mayor of Interlaken.
Bruce was a devoted husband to Diana (née Batten) and loving father to Marley (Connor) and Myles (Sarah), also known as M&M. Proud Papa to Sloane and Ellis. A kind soul with a powerful laugh, Bruce worked as a volunteer firefighter, school bus driver, chef, and dedicated his time to Olympia Sports Camp. His love for cooking, music, stories, and people created memories cherished by many.
He is survived by his siblings Raymond (Teody), Leonard (Linda), Marilyn (Bill), Marie (John), Doreen (Jean), and Cathy, and predeceased by siblings David and Heather. Loved by a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Bruce leaves behind a legacy of warmth and humour.
