It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Ronald Reeson, born on August 8, 1943 — a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather, and lifelong athlete. Roger passed away at home with his wife Janie in the early hours of May 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Roger was the cherished husband of Janie, and a loving father to Ryan (Joanne), Brad (predeceased in 2016), and Colin (Dana). He was a proud and active grandfather to Cameron, Andrew, and Maddy, always present in their lives and never missing an opportunity to cheer them on or share a laugh.

An accomplished and passionate athlete throughout his life, Roger excelled in baseball, bowling, curling, and golf. He approached every game with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, forging lifelong friendships through his love of competition and camaraderie. Roger’s joyful spirit was perhaps best captured in one of his favorite pastimes: passing out Werther’s candy to anyone he met just to bring a smile to their face. His simple, heartfelt gestures and genuine kindness touched countless lives. Above all, Roger’s love for his family was the foundation of his life. His deep devotion, generous heart, and unwavering support will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

As per Roger’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Roger’s memory.
