REMPEL, Helen Rose Rempel

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 at the age of 92. Predeceased by John, her dearly loved husband of 62 years. Much loved mother of Randy (Grace), Doug (Vanessa), Katharine Jeffrey (late Gary), and Peter (Beth).

Grandmother of Rick (Avryl), Dale (Mary), Kevin, Ben (Amanda), Ian, Rebecca, Olivia, and Pierson. Great-grandmother of Lexxie, Tyson, and Tyler.

Loving sister of Isabel (late Glenn). Predeceased by her brothers Bert and Walter. Helen is survived by her sister-in-law Judy, brother-in-law John, as well as many cousins nieces and nephews and their families

Helen was born March 31, 1933 in Parry Sound, the daughter of the late Jim and Nellie (Helen) McAlister. Over the course of her life, she also lived in St. Catharines and Milton before finally settling in Whitby. An avid volunteer, Helen was an active participant in the Rebekah Lodge, The Refuge Youth Outreach Centre in Oshawa, Whitby Lacrosse, and the Whitby Baptist Church, among other organizations. She was one of the original graduates of the MacMaster School of Nurse Practitioners and spent her life caring for others.

Visitation will be at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home in Whitby on Monday, November 10th from 11:00 am until time of service in the Barnes Chapel Monday at 12:00 Noon. Helen will be laid to rest at Groveside Cemetery. In keeping with Helen’s wishes, please wear bright and colourful clothing to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Helen’s name to The Refuge Youth Outreach Centre Oshawa or Whitby Baptist Church Food Bank.
