Walter Melville Rennie was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Chatham Maroons. He also enjoyed spending time watching his daughters figure skate.
Regarded as a “cops cop,” Walt was a highly respected member of the Chatham OPP Detachment and proudly served Kent County with pride and dignity. Integrity was a very important attribute to him, always doing the right thing even when nobody was watching. This mindset was very appreciated by the community he served.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Walt’s vibrant life inspires us to live fully and happily ,and also, to obey the law, no speeding and always wear your seatbelt!
Walt’s family will be remembering him privately.
To the world he was a policeman, but to us he was our world.
