ROBERTS, Gordon Peter Roberts

With love and gratitude, we honour the life of Gordon (Gord) Roberts, or “GG” as he became known to his family. Gord passed away on September 13, at the age of 99, surrounded by family at the Amica retirement residence in Dundas, Ontario. Gord moved to Amica in 2024, where he made many new friends during the last year and a half of his life.

Gord was born in Toronto on September 10, 1926 to Alice (née Touzel) and Emile Roberts. He was predeceased by his siblings Harold, Leslie, and Irene. On June 3, 1974, Gord married Rosemary (née Powell), the love of his life and wife for 30 years. He became a caring father to Douglas Miller and his wife Johanna.

He was a loving and devoted grandfather to Robin (Ken), Penny (John), and Adam (Amy), and the greatest of great-grandfathers to Mikayla, Emma, Asher, Matthew, Finnegan, Abbigail, and Ryleigh.

Gord was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, he worked across Canada for Colgate Palmolive and then in real estate with Slightham Royal LePage.

Gord and Rosemary were avid golfers at The Donalda Club in Toronto, where they enjoyed spending time with their many friends. Gord had a head for numbers and loved to talk about investments and sports. He was a social man who made friends wherever he went – and, amazingly, always remembered every detail about their lives. He made those around him feel loved and appreciated and he always brought a smile to the faces of everyone he met.

Gord will be missed by so many and the memories of time spend with him will be cherished.

A celebration of life will take place at The Donalda Club (12 Bushbury Drive, North York) on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the North York General Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation — all charities close to Gord’s heart — are appreciated.
