ROBERTS, Paula Jean Roberts

With broken hearts, we, the family of Paula (Crowder) Roberts, wish to announce the sudden, but peaceful passing at home on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at the age of 66. Paula was a resident of Maitland, Nova Scotia and formally resided in Ontario. Forever remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Paula will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Predeceased by her Mother Patricia (Turmaine) Beckett, Father Keith Crowder, Step-Father William (Bill) Beckett and Stepbrother Doug Beckett.

Paula Jean Roberts dedicated her working career and personal life to animals. She became a registered Veterinary Technician after graduating from Seneca College and shortly after began working in the Animal health unit at the Toronto Zoo where she retired after fulfilling her career. Paula chose retirement by the ocean, where she lived with her own personal zoo with horses, dogs, cats and a parrot. Paula enjoyed traveling the world, venturing to various dream locations, checking them off her bucket list while simultaneously adding more.

Paula is dearly missed by her daughter, Sarah DeWachter (Nickolas) and their children Mason and Logan. Lovingly remembered by her sister, Sherri Birch (Kevin) and nephews Daniel (Andisheh) & Christopher Birch, Aunt Dody (late Jim) DeVuono, Uncles Dennis (Theresa) and Paul Turmaine, stepbrother David Beckett. And Sarah’s father Steve Roberts. She will be missed dearly by friends and family from all over the country and world, specifically Bahamas where she spent a lot of time volunteering with her sister.

In keeping with Paula’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place in Nova Scotia. A Celebration of Paula’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 1pm-4pm 1700 Queen’s Blvd., Kitchener Ontario. Following a Celebration in Nova Scotia on July 25, 2026, with interment to follow.
