ROBERTS, Rita Isobel Clara Roberts

After a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Rita passed away on June 19th 2026 in Barrie, Ontario; in her 93rd year. Born in Cap-aux-Os, Gaspé, Quebec; She lived for many years in Montreal, later living in Scarborough and Newcastle, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Lindsay Roberts; and dear companion of the late Anthony Ton. Predeceased by her daughter Arlene Roberts Whiting.

Rita Isobel Clara Roberts leaves to mourn, five children; Pat (Rod), Dean (Susan), Andrew (Kim), Rick (Kim), Brent (Ann). Also, missing her dearly are her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as her 3 siblings, Evelyn, Ivan and Ian. Rita was also a Foster-Parent to many children; her influence and caring was a benefit to them all.

A memorial service is being held Saturday, June 27th at the Newcastle Funeral Home 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle, Ontario. Visitation begins at 11 am and the service will take place directly after. Refreshments will be served.
