It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roderick Kirk Roberts, who departed peacefully at his home in Utterson, Ontario, on May 12, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born on November 27, 1948, in Novar, Ontario, Rod lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and enduring love for his family. On December 10, 1970, he married his beloved wife, Elizabeth Susan (Bette) Roberts (née Chegahno), in Emsdale. She was the Prom Queen—his Prom Queen—and their marriage of over five decades was a true partnership.

Rod was a man of many passions. He took joy to the skies in his cherished Cessna 150, and on the ground, he admired his two beloved 1966 Ford Mustangs. His greatest pride, however, was his family—especially his granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Roberts, who brought a sparkle to his eyes.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Bette, sons Kirk Roberts and Craig Roberts (Tina Chatillon), sister Linda (Bruce) Trimble, and granddaughter Emily. Rod’s steady presence, loving heart, and thoughtful wisdom will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Utterson Community Hall, 32 Township Hall Rd, Utterson, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka at alzheimer.ca/muskoka, a cause close to the family’s heart.
