Passed away peacefully after an 8-year battle with breast cancer at Stedman Community Hospice on July 8, 2025, at the age of 62. Wonderful mother to Alex (Ashley) Grinton and Emily (Abbi) Grinton. Proud and loving Granny to Robbie and Ben Grinton & Madyn Miller. Cherished sister to Liz Kondo (Gary), Jim Rolland (Wanda), Cathy Rolland (Allen) and David Rolland. Daughter of the late Jane and Walter Rolland.
Martha was a Registered Nurse and spent the majority of her professional career at SickKids Hospital conducting research in Pediatric Oncology and Cardiology. She was a co-author of numerous medical research studies and loved her career fiercely. Prior to her breast cancer diagnosis, Martha was an accomplished triathlete, finishing 13 Ironman Triathlons and numerous long-distance running events. She was an extremely dedicated ‘granny’ and loved her children and grandchildren immensely. She left a lasting impact on anyone who met her.

If desired, please consider a donation to Stedman Community Hospice or the SPCA in lieu of flowers. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service for family and close friends will be conducted at Farringdon Burial Ground. A drop-in Celebration of Life will take place at 79 Oakhill Drive, Brantford from 12-4PM on August 9th, 2025. Please bring your stories, pictures and favorite memories of Martha to share.
