Roman Siciak passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on October
29th, 2026, at the age of 68, following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.
Roman was the beloved husband of Ewa, with whom he shared 30 wonderful years of marriage.
He was a proud and devoted father to Evelyn Leonhardt and her husband Tanner, and Michael
Siciak and his wife Megan, and stepfather to Peter Kusnierz. He was the adoring grandfather
(Gaga) of Charlie, who brought him tremendous joy.
Dear brother of Bogdan and Malgorzata. Roman will be lovingly remembered by his extended
family, nieces and nephews, and his many family members and tremendous circle of friends
both here in Canada and in Poland.
Roman was a hardworking and proud business owner who founded Roman Mechanical, his
own HVAC company, 25 years ago. Through his dedication and commitment, he built a
successful business and established many lasting relationships along the way.
Above all, Roman was a wonderful man with an exceptionally generous heart. He was the kind
of person who was always there for others. He never said no when someone needed help and
would willingly sacrifice his own time and needs to make sure others were taken care of. His
kindness, selflessness, and willingness to lend a helping hand were simply part of who he was.
Family and friendship meant everything to Roman. He was a devoted family man who treasured
the time spent with Ewa and their children. He and Ewa especially enjoyed camping and
travelling together, creating wonderful memories together and with their children when they were
young. Roman also cherished his friendships and the many special relationships he built
throughout his life.
Roman leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and countless acts of kindness.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but the memories he
created and the lives he touched will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Please join with the family to celebrate Roman’s life at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King
Street East, Oshawa, visitation will be held on Tuesday November 3rd, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Hedwig’s Polish Catholic Church, 411 Olive Avenue, Oshawa
on Wednesday November 4th, 2026 at 11:00am with a celebration of life held afterwards at
Polish Alliance of Canada #21, 219 Olive Ave, Oshawa.
