It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ron, at the age of 64.
Ron was a loving husband to Brenda, an incredible dad to his two sons, Robert and Thomas, and his daughter, Marly, and a very proud Grandpa. Above everything else in his life, family was what mattered most to him.
Ron had a quiet, dry wit and a way of saying something at just the right moment that could make everyone laugh. He didn’t need to be the loudest person in the room to make his presence known. Those who knew him well knew to listen closely — there was usually a perfectly timed comment coming.
Ron was happiest when he had a project on the go. He loved building, fixing, creating, and figuring out how things worked. There was always something that could be improved, repaired, or built, and Ron was usually already thinking about how he was going to do it. So much of what he built with his own hands will remain around us as a reminder of him for years to come.
But the most important thing Ron built was his family.
He was a devoted husband to Brenda, a dad his children could depend on, and a Grandpa who loved his grandchildren tremendously. Being Grandpa to Hallie, Lucie, and Callan brought him so much happiness. Although his grandchildren are still very young, we will make sure they grow up knowing exactly who their Grandpa was. They will hear his stories, see his pictures, laugh about the things he did, and always know how deeply he loved them.
Ron faced more challenges in his lifetime than most, and he did so with remarkable determination and strength. He simply kept going, adapting and finding a way forward.
We will miss the big things, but perhaps even more, we will miss the ordinary things — his voice, his dry humour, seeing him working on his latest project, asking his opinion, sharing meals and family conversations, and simply knowing he was there.
Ron leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda; his son Robert and his wife, Kendra, and their daughters, Hallie and Lucie; his son Thomas and his wife, Sierra, and their son, Callan; his daughter Marly and her husband, Davi; as well as family and friends who loved him dearly.
There will never be another Ron, and there will always be a place in our family that belongs only to him.
We were incredibly lucky to have him.
Loved beyond words.
Missed beyond measure.
Forever my husband. Forever our Dad. Forever their Grandpa.
Cremation entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to The War Amps, an organization close to our family’s heart. Friends are invited to share memories, express condolences or make donations www.lowandlow.ca.
