We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Steven Patrick Rooney on July 24, 2025, at the age of 46.

Steven will be forever loved and deeply missed by his mother Donna Rooney; his brother Phillip (Angee) Rooney; his sister Cherise Rooney; and his three nieces, Shelbi, Ashlyn, and Brynlee. He also leaves behind Anna Mason, who held a special place in his life and in his heart.

Steven was predeceased by his father, Phillip Rooney.

Steven had a sharp mind and an instinctive kind of intelligence – the kind that didn’t need instructions. He could fix what was broken, build what he needed, and cook something great with music in the background. He could strike up a conversation easily, and if you spent any real time with him, odds are you walked away with a story you still laugh about. His loyalty ran deep – fierce, protective, and unwavering.

He played his role in the family like only a middle child could – equal parts overlooked and unforgettable, and never above sending a TikTok to prove his point.

He never let us forget we skipped his 30th birthday – so here it is, Steve. The toast, the tribute, the love.You’re unforgettable. And we know Ted was there to greet you – your tail-wagging soul mate, waiting to walk with you once more.

In keeping with Steven’s wishes, a service will not be held at this time. A celebration of life will be planned and shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal charity or a cause of your choice, in Steven’s memory.
