Above all, Stan was a profoundly proud, and special Pops to Michael, Brody (Julia), Shane (Kelly), Erica (Cody), Caden and Nash.
Stanford Gerard ROOTE loved the outdoors and spending time hunting and fishing with family. He was eager to pass along his love and passion for hunting with his children and grandchildren. Memories were made each year with family and friends at the cottage in Sauble. Stan could hardly wait each year for baseball season to start. He enjoyed many years watching his sons and grandkids as well as other family members play. He was able to travel across Canada, the United States, Australia, Argentina, and Ireland to watch his family participate in their various sports. Stan made many friends throughout his years at the ball diamond, and there was never a tournament where Stan didnβt chat with someone he knew. Above all spending time with his family brought him the most joy, he was a jokester through and through and always one for a laugh. For Stan it was not just the big moments in life where he could celebrate with family and friends of their accomplishments or travel the world β it was the little moments too. He was always ready to lend a helping hand for anyone, and especially enjoyed quiet afternoons at home with Judy and a four legged granddog by their side.
Stan drove truck for over 40 years at Maple Leaf Hatchery and had many great co-workers throughout his years there. It was there that Stan made lifelong friends with Barry and Lorne, whom he always looked forward to getting together with for coffee.
Heartfelt thanks to all the family and friends that were able to visit Stan in his last days, it was filled with love and laughter and truly brightened his days.
Special thanks to Doctor Martin, Doctor Faraawi and Doctors Tam & Rosart of the WRHN Cancer Centre for the years of excellent care. Also, to Doctor Bullock for palliative care. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth for all their compassion, kindness, care and support given to Stan and his family during his brief time there.
At Stanβs request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
