It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Allardyce on October 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, Rose later immigrated to Canada, where she began a career as a legal secretary at age 16. It was also in Canada that she met her beloved husband, Michael John Allardyce, also from Scotland. Together, they shared a wonderful life filled with laughter, happiness, devotion and 64 years of marriage.

Rose was a proud and loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her children: Lynn Rose Allardyce and her son Michael (Tamar); Scott James Allardyce and his daughter Elizabeth, Glen McMurdo Allardyce (Vanessa); Grant Edward Allardyce (Tracy) and their children Aidan and Riley

Rose lived life with spirit and warmth. She had a passion for music never missing a chance to listen to Engelbert Humperdinck and enjoyed ballroom as well as line dancing and immersing herself in a great mystery novel.

The family would also like to thank the personal support workers that came into our home to provide services to Rose for many years. Special thanks to Amy, Julie, Yvonne and Sabrina for all the support.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Bowmanville General Hospital for the compassionate care Rose received.

She will be forever loved, fondly remembered, and deeply missed.
