Rosetta Violet Victoria (Lewis) Booth

Passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 102 years.

Beloved Mother to her daughter Jacqueline Booth (Nick) and son Brian Booth. Loving Nana to Sarah Jane Finlay and Heather Campbell. Proud Great Nana (Iya) to Finley Valdstyn and Zoey Rose Landry. Predeceased by her husband Walter in November 2024, and her cherished granddaughter Megan Rose Booth Campbell in 1987.

Rosetta Violet Victoria Booth was born within the square mile in the City of London, England. She was the eldest of her four younger siblings. Sadly, their Mother passed away when Rose was nine years old. Rose and her beloved sister Gladys (Cis) were placed at Mill Grove, South Woodford, London, a home for motherless children, in 1933. Her two younger brothers, Bert and Bob, remained at home, while her youngest brother Ralph went into foster care at two weeks old. Rose remained at Mill Grove until she was 16 years old.

The loss of her Mother and living seven of her formative early years at Mill Grove, shaped the woman she became. Rose developed an indomitable strength of character. The acts of kindness, honesty, sharing, and knowing how important family is were the values by which she lived her life.

Rose married Walter in 1945 and remained together for 78 years. They immigrated to Canada in 1953 with their two young children. Rose worked at Scholastic Publications, Canada, as the Subscription Manager for 25 years. Rose and Walter built their own rural home in 1964 just outside Claremont, where she loved observing nature, especially bird life, and tending to her beautiful garden beds. Rose mastered the skills of knitting and sewing from an early age and loved making and giving handmade creations to family and friends.

Rose was a helper and friend to all. She was a giving woman who gave of herself to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her heart was always open to those in need, whether someone needed a smile to brighten their day, a kind word when life felt difficult, practical assistance, or simply a hand to hold. She was always there to help in any way possible, and her kindness touched the lives of so many.

Rose was a constant and loving part of her family here and in England. Her love was our greatest gift, and she was the heart of our family. Though you are no longer with us, your love will live on in us & in every memory we hold close. Rose will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts. Rest peacefully, until we meet again.

Funeral Service will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2p.m. with visitation at 1p.m. Immediately following the service a reception will be held.
