SCARFO, Salvatore Scarfo

Passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2025 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 53 years to Rosina. Loving father of Gina and Maria (Rich). Cherished Nonno of Allison and Tristyn. Predeceased by his four siblings. Son of the late Carlo and Girolama Scarfo.

Sam will be remembered for his direct, no-nonsense approach and his lively sense of humour. His strong beliefs, humour and stories were often shared over homemade wine, soppresatta and food harvested from his garden which he delighted in sharing with his friends and family. He loved to laugh and joke around with others. Sam will also be remembered for his strong work ethic and the many sacrifices he made for his family, which was incredibly important to him. Indeed, he worked hard, but he loved even harder. He was a strong man with a calm presence, filled with kindness and generosity. He was a man of integrity and his word was everything. Men like Sam are truly rare, and he will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario on Sunday July 20, 2025 from 2 pm to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday July 21, 2025 in the chapel at 11 am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby, ON.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
