Helen Margaret Schmidt, formerly of Cargill, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, in her 97th year.

Beloved mother of Catherine (John) Elphick, Elmer Schmidt, Alan (Judy) Schmidt, Therese (Steve) Eckenswiller, and Mary Lou Neil. Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Alan, John, Jeannie, Billy, Joey, Vince, Ellen, Erin, Bobby-Jo, Andrew, Katie, and proud great-grandmother of Kyler, Autumn, Brooke, Cohen, Ashton, Jenna, Leah, Matthew, Nick, Hope, Parker, Ben, Lily, Owen, Layton, Knox, Cedar, Olive, and great-great-grandmother of Isla and Layla.

Helen will be missed by her sister-in-law Vera Schmidt. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, son-in-law Charlie Neil, daughter-in-law Vicky Schmidt, grandchildren Jennifer Elphick and Jamie Bell, siblings Rita Berberich, Millie Landon, Lawrence Zettler, Reuben Zettler, Dorothy Ernewein, Leona Schmidt, Julie Lucey, Mark Zettler, and parents Andrew and Magdeline Zettler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Mary Immaculate Church, Chepstow. Reception to follow at Chepstow Lion’s Park. Interment to take place at Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Wellness and Emotional Support (WES) for Youth Online, Saugeen Hospice, or the Grey-Bruce Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family.
