SCOTT, Jean Scott

She known as Jean passed away peacefully in her 104th year with her children at her side, on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Born in 1922, she was married to Wally Scott for 69 years, together having three children, Bob (Stephanie), Brenda (Dave) and Donna.

Beloved by her four grandchildren, Jesse, Neysa (Frank), Alice (Jason) and Katherine (Joel), and five great grandchildren, Smith, Shea, Callum, Keegan and Joey.

Mom worked in emergency and surgical medicine and as a floor supervisor in several hospitals during her career.

Jean Scott was stoic, never complained and exhibited an exemplary work ethic, while also making childhood fun creating intricate award winning costumes for Halloween and elaborate Barbie clothes with bits of fur trim and exotic touches.

She also ran “Camp Grandma” when the grandchildren would go to visit for a week every summer. They still have fond memories of those times.

She has been a support to us all and taught us the value of sticking up for oneself and others. She was an original feminist always letting the women in the family know that as women we were second class to no one.

Mom you were loved deeply and will be with us always.

We will have a graveside service for her at 12:30pm on June 17, 2026, at the Listowel Fairview Cemetery, 875 Davidson Avenue North, Listowel.
