SKULSKY, Joseph Skulsky

Passed away quietly at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto on Thursday June 11, 2026 at the age of 87. Predeceased by wife Lucy, his parents Anton and Anna and his siblings Katie, Nicholas, Mary, Michael, Elizabeth, Jennie, Olga, William, Victor, Stella, Phil, and Ed, Joe is survived by many nieces and nephews and a large group of close friends.

Born July 22, 1938, Joe spent his early years in Edmonton, before moving with his family to Vernon, BC in the late 1940s. In 1961, Joe moved to Toronto, eventually opening his own business and working well after retirement age because his clients had come to depend on his services. Although Toronto was Joe’s home he maintained his connection to Western Canada through frequent visits to Alberta to spend time with his family. Joe also enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world. His favorite trips were to the east coast of Australia, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and his yearly visits to Mexico.

Joseph Skulsky was also a man of faith whose devotion guided his daily actions, relationships, and moral decisions. Joe was very active within his religious community and expressed his faith externally through many generous acts of charity.

Our family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at St Michael’s Kidney Care Centre for the care they provided Joe over many years and those at Joseph’s Hospital for the attention paid to Joe during his final days.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter’s Yorke Chapel on Friday, June 19, at 10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am.

A private interment will be held by the family in Calgary at a later date where Joe will be buried with his mother.
