SMITH, Marlene Ruth Smith

Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on May 26, 2026, at Sumac Lodge, Marlene Ruth Smith passed away at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Fredrick Smith. Loving mother of Mark (Marsha) Smith and Sheila Crang. Cherished grandma of Tanner Crang, Dean Crang and Carlee Crang. Predeceased by her parents James and Dorthy Gale and her sister-in-law Brenda Disher. Marlene loved vacationing in Florida with her husband Fredrick, where the warm weather let her partake in one of her favorite activities, swimming. Marlene was also an avid quilter and crafter. In her professional life, she spent many years working as a Registered Nurse in Brampton, where her care and compassion made a difference in the lives of many.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Marlene’s wishes, no services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
