SOPER, Richard Eugene “Dick” Soper

With gratitude for a life well lived, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Eugene “Dick” Soper, who passed away peacefully on Saturday February28, 2026, a Lakeland Regional Health Center, Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by loved ones, in his 87th year.

Beloved husband and partner of Nancy (nee Burtwistle) for 65 years. Dick was a devoted and respected father to Steven Soper (Laurian) and Pam Coon (Glenn). He will be lovingly missed, and remembered by his grandchildren Tarian Best-Wale (Mike), Jessica Grant (Jordon), Bronte Soper, Alex Coon (Ashley), Tori Coon (Nish) as well as great grandchildren Jacob Wale, Nolan Wale, Amara Grant, Kennedy Coon and Callahan Coon, who brought infinite happiness and joy to their Papa D.

Dick is survived by his brother Tom Soper (Kit) and Nancy’s sisters, Joanne Orchard (Glenn), Janet Peters, his brother-in-law, Craig Travis, and good friends Bea, Fitz, and Willow. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dick was predeceased by his first great grandchild, Nathan Wale and dearest friend Toby. He was the son of the late Jesse and Lillian Soper.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2926 from 2-4pm a the Country Fork, 1048 Bay St. Port Rowan.
