It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David John Stephen, in his 56th year, on June 5th, 2025. Dave (Daver/Shorty) was a boisterous and fun-loving personality in his hometown of Bowmanville and will be deeply missed by his family, and the many friends who knew him.
Dave was born October 17th, 1969, in Bowmanville, Ontario. Dave was always the outdoor adventurer, seeking trails to roam, bikes to ride and creeks to chill by. Ever the daredevil, Dave loved exploring his hometown. Also, a music lover, Dave was a self-taught musician, often strumming a guitar, figuring out a harmonica, having fun on the drums and singing tunes. Dave was a Tradesman and worked as a skilled Machinist and Millwright. Tinkering was another hobby, with interests in welding. A kind and romantic soul, Dave was a friend to all he met, with a laugh and a smile that was unforgettable.
Dave will be sorely missed by his former longtime partner, Tracey Henderson, their sons Curtis and Jamie and grandchildren. David was the beloved son of his mother, the late Audrey Stephen and Jack Stephen. Predeceased by his grandparents Ruby Spicer, Allan, and Kathleen Stephen of Bowmanville. Dearly missed by sister Maureen Partridge and nieces Olivia and Chloe Partridge. Cherished by so many longtime friends, who will forever be reminiscing about the good times.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions in memory of Dave can be made to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville or any local Bowmanville charity of your choice.
