STRUDWICK, Philip Strudwick

He passed away peacefully on Monday May 4, 2026, surrounded by his family after a 4-year courageous journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Philip Strudwick was born November 20, 1947, in London England. His family moved to Canada when Phil was a child where they lived in London, Ontario.

Phil was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who loved racing, cottaging, family trips to Daytona Beach Florida and tinkering with tools.

Phil is survived by his wife of 57 years Susan, his children Sarah (Ian) and Jennifer (Joe), four grandchildren Kaiden, Keira, Brooke, Colton, and sister Jackie (John).

After Phil finished his schooling, he joined the bank with racing as his hobby. Phil had a lifelong passion for racing, finding some of his greatest joys at the track. With the roar of engines and the thrill of competition, racing became not just his passion but his full-time profession,Β it was his community and where he felt most at home. Phil started with his shop in Streetsville and found his final shop at Mosport. This passion for racing was evident to anyone who knew him.

Phil also loved hearing of his grandchildren’s accomplishments, but hockey was his game, he loved to grab a Tim Hortons coffee, hit the road to go to an arena to watch the boy’s play. He was a quiet fan of the kids and their endeavors but always very proud of all of them. Phil often used his humour and left a lasting impression with all who he encountered.

Special Thank You to Hospice Peterborough and Dr Morrelli for the wonderful care.

A private family service will be held in Phil’s honour. The family kindly requested donations made to Hospice Peterborough and the Alzheimer’s Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and Haliburton in his honour.
