TAYLOR, Frances Doris Taylor
November 12, 1943 - February 28, 2026
Fran was the proud mother of Jean (Nigel Warnock) and Susan Taylor (Doug Judge), and will be deeply missed by them, as well as her beloved brother, Brian Waplington (Nancy. She will also be fondly remembered by her nephews, Jon (Jen) and David.
A woman of many talents, Fran had a profound love for music, playing both the piano and organ. She was an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church in New Hamburg, where she served as a lay reader. Her contributions to the church and community were a testament to her strong faith and commitment to others. Fran was also an avid painter and an enthusiastic gardener, finding joy in creating beauty both indoors and outdoors.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Fran was an engaged and passionate member of the Lions Club, having earned both the Melvin Jones and Helen Keller Awards for her dedication to service. She was also a devoted Christian and a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she earned her Bachelor of Education with Honours in English. Fran’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to join the family on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at St. George’s Anglican Church, New Hamburg. Rev. Lorne Mitchell will officiate the service. Refreshments and fellowship will follow. Cremation will take place, with interment at St. James Anglican Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church or the Lions Foundation of Canada.
