Memorial candle

Thomas Michael Bonner, age 72, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Tom was born on October 21, 1954, in Kelowna, British Columbia, to Jean and Michael Bonner, and grew up alongside his siblings, Jack and Dolores.

He later moved to Edmonton, Alberta, and started a family with his former wife, the late Heather Dawn Simrose. They were blessed with three children: Michael, the late Bryan, and Amy. Nothing brought Tom greater joy in his later years than stepping into his role as a devoted grandpa to Bryden Smith-Volkman, Skyler Bonasoro, and Alexander Bonasoro.

A loving and steadfast source of support, Tom was simply the best dad and grandpa anyone could hope for. He brightened the lives of everyone around him with his signature warmth, generous spirit, and vibrant energy. An avid cyclist and lifelong lover of the outdoors, Tom was happiest when camping, staying active, and immersed in nature. He split his time between Edmonton and Kelowna, treasuring every moment spent with family and dear friends.

Tom will be forever remembered and missed by his children, Michael and Amy; his grandchildren, Bryden, Skyler, and Alexander; his loving girlfriend, Donna Inaba; his lifelong best friend, Greg Bounds; his siblings, Jack and Dolores; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
